Who benefits from a bike fit?

Sore neck and back, knee pain, uncomfortable saddle - all can be signs of an improper bike fit.  Anyone who rides a bike, from recreational to competitive, needs a proper bike fitting.  A bike that fits correctly is not only a blast to ride, it is essential for optimum comfort and efficient power transfer to the pedals.

A short interview determines your riding style, preferences and goals, while observation of you on the bike determines rider flexibility, proper position, and necessary adjustments to stem, saddle and handlebar.*  A cleat fit is included and will position the cleats to proper fore/aft and inboard/outboard settings. The goal of the fit is optimal comfort, efficiency and performance. *( all fit changes and recommendations will be discussed with you)

AERO FIT - $200

ReTul Fit- $290

The Retul fit is at the highest level of fitting art and science. Sensors placed on the rider measure critical angles of the body while in motion, giving the fitter the most accurate view of how you ride your bike through 360 degrees of the pedal stroke. This information is recorded electronically and is used to make the adjustments necessary for maximum comfort and performance. A video shows before and after fit positions. Can be done on any style of bike. Time varies. Includes a cleat fitting.

Testimonials

I had been riding for a few years with only a "quick" fit.  I went to trek West and spoke to Mike.
I was having bad problems with my quads, soreness, cramps, particularly when climbing and after even twenty miles. One had always went numb as well. I came in for the fitting.  I was really impressed with Mike's procedure. He warmed me up on the bike, getting me just a bit tired so he could see how I really ride, now how I said I ride.  He took his time. we talked, adjust shoes, cleats, the bike, switched stems, everything.
The results were amazing,. I never had those problems again, ever.
Mike is careful, precise, listens, and has a zen-like appreciation for the bike-rider fit.
I have recommended him to 20 or so folks, all have had good results.

My professional fit by Mike Wodyn was definitely a  “game changer”.

I’ve been a recreational cyclists for several years, and  while I always liked to cycle I never enjoyed it  due to shoulder pain that  would always trigger around 8-10 miles into a ride.  Every ride, every time, I would experience pain in my right shoulder.

As I really wanted to be able to enjoy the great Wisconsin cycling, I attempted to “fix” my shoulder through physical therapy, etc.,  to no avail.  Needless to say I was disappointed , that was until I went in for a professional bike fitting with Mike Wodyn at Trek West in Madison, WI.

My experience was extraordinary. Upon first meeting Mike, it was clear to me that he was an experienced professional who knows how to fit a bike. He listened to my concerns, recorded various notes and measurements, and got to work. He spent time analyzing my riding style, posture, etc. and made the necessary adjustments to my cleats, saddle, handlebar, stem length,  etc.  Prior to my fit, I had no idea of the number of components that could be adjusted to tailor the bike to the rider.  I was surprised at the amount of time Mike devoted to the fit process. He provided impeccable service,  addressed all my concerns, and offered honest feedback.

Of course, the real proof of the “fit”, would only be realized through an actual ride on the Wisconsin roads. I was cautious at first and went out for 10 miles, and was pleasantly surprised that the shoulder pain that I always just assumed was part of the bike riding experience was gone. A few days later, I increased my mileage and still no shoulder pain.  Mike is a problem solver. He cured me. A short 8 months after my fit, I was able to complete my first century.  Completing a century would not have been possible for me without the help of Mike and his expertise in bike fitting.

In short, Mike Wodyn is like a good Italian tailor. He tailored my bike to fit me like a glove!!  Impeccable service.
