Product Details

Burley Flatbed

With versatility like a pickup truck, but none of the gas, Burley's Flatbed trailer will change the way you approach errands. This 14-pound cargo trailer is made from light aluminum and can hold a full 100 pounds of whatever you need to haul around. The tough PCV Skin material stands up to 2x4s and furniture without adding weight. The foldable design and quick-release wheels make it easy to store when not in use, and it uses the same hitch as Burley's child trailers, making it simple to swap from trailer to trailer.

      Comments:

My son's school bus stop is 5 miles from home. So how does one fetch him and his computer-laden backpack from the bus without a car? With a Burley flat-bed trailer and a folding bike. The trailer is easy to attach to my bike, rides smoothly, and carries the folding bike easily. I do put a beach towel on the flat bed because the ride is bumpy. I don't want a bouncing bike to puncture the flat bed. I simply use bungee cords to keep the folding bike in place as I ride to the bus stop. I use the same bungees to carry the heavy backpack home. It's win-win-win-win. He gets home without walking 5 miles, I use no gasoline, I get 10 miles' worth of exercise and he gets 5. I haven't used it for grocery shopping yet because I haven't figure out how to lock it at the store. But I wouldn't hesitate to use it to bring a bulky or heavy item to work.

          Comments:

I have had this trailer for about 5 years and it has hauled everything from hunting gear, groceries, fertalizer, and even bikes to the repair shop. It's a flat bed and you have to provide something for stuff to stay in a big rubber maid container for groceries, half an old large dog carrier for other stuff, and I cut the material in the front and use a yakama car rack to transport bikes.

I over us this product and it keeps on working! I ride a recumbent trike and even though this trailers sits a bit higher than my GreenSpeed it seems to get the job done.
